About Reliable Leak Detection
About Our Owner
I’ve been in the plumbing industry my entire professional life, having always found plumbing interesting, from the time I was a little kid helping my dad solder copper pipes to installing sinks and faucets at rental property. I went to school at University of Cincinnati’s Ohio College of Applied Science in Construction Management. This led to jobs in designing plumbing and fire protection systems for 20 years. I left engineering to work at a couple of large plumbing companies as a project manager and estimator. While estimating I occasionally hired companies to do leak detection and found that they frequently took several days or, in some cases, weeks to get to my jobs. This made me realize that there was a need for another leak detection company that could respond quickly to provide accurate leak detection for individual homeowners and commercial businesses and their plumbers.
After considerable reading and talking to many people across the USA about the profession, I found that there was a lot to learn about leak detecting! I attended the only two leak detection training schools that existed at the time, bought the basic equipment needed and started Reliable Leak Detection later that year.
I continue to train when possible and have acquired considerably more equipment than I have listed to ensure that every leak location is accurate.
Call me if you need any of the services I offer. I promise to arrive prepared and eager to help!
About Our Leak Detection Equipment
Reliable Leak Detection uses the best equipment available in the leak detection industry.
Every job begins with checking for the location of the water line. This is performed using our pipe locator.
We have several highly-amplified listening devices for leak detection. All leak listening devices are considered the best in the industry. One is used primarily for small, difficult to hear leaks. The others have a meter and help determine leak locations through sound differentiation.
Our air compressor is oil-less (perfectly safe for working with water lines) and is remote controlled so that we can constantly control the amount of pressure on the system. This prevents damaging your system with too much pressure and allows full control of the line pressure while listening for leaks
Helium is used as a final method to determine and /or double check the leak location.
